A Parable: “a succinct, didactic story, in prose or verse, that illustrates one or more instructive lessons or principles“ (from Wikipedia). The audience is placed within a highly realistic set, inside of an anonymous country‘s Catholic school. On this set, the drama unfolds both visibly and invisibly. This means that the scenes are experienced directly as live performance and indirectly through live broadcasts on monitors or projected images amidst the “action”. The audience is dispersed throughout different rooms and locations, encountering various characters and witnessing different scenes about the same single story. This multi-passing and multimedia stage not only offers the audience an unconventional film and theater experience but also provides various perspectives on the drama. At the end of the performance, one is left with a disturbing sense of “doubt”.
